My research aims to combine metabolic engineering techniques like ALE and genetic engineering with metabolic modelling tools for the investigation of SCFA
metabolism pathways, pursuing development of a platform strain efficient at converting the residual carbon present in biowaste to monoterpene intermediates for the production of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF).

We are the Food Tech and Bioengineering lab at Tallinn University of Technology. We develop novel processes for the production of food and feed components, but also bio-chemicals and materials.
