Abdullah´s research aims to utilize adaptive laboratory evolution in Rhodosporidium toruloides with desaturase inhibitors to enhance the fatty acid profile. This involves inducing genetic changes through adaptive evolution and the use of inhibitors to improve the unsaturated fatty acid content, potentially leading to a more desirable lipid composition for biotechnological applications.
