Aleksandr Illarionov
Bioinformatician
Aleksandr received his bachelor’s degree in Genetics and Biotechnology from the University of Tartu. During his first semester, he joined Petri Jaan Lahtvee’s bioengineering lab, where he spent three years working. There, Aleksandr became familiar with fermentation, genetic engineering and machine learning-based image analysis. After a two-year break from academia, during which he worked in website/software development and data analysis, he rejoined Petri’s new lab at TalTech as a bioinformatician. In this role, Aleksandr works on establishing a protein design platform, as well as on transcriptomics and various types of data analysis and recovery.
