Ritwika Basu

PhD student

I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biotechnology, with industrial experience in recombinant protein expression using yeast systems. My project is a collaboration between the Bioengineering Lab at TalTech and the Centre of Food and Fermentation Technologies (TFTAK), focusing on addressing challenges in yeast-based protein expression through the design and application of synthetic biology tools. Additionally, my project emphasises developing automated, high-throughput protein expression workflows to support scalable and efficient biotechnological applications for industry.

We are the Food Tech and Bioengineering lab at Tallinn University of Technology. We develop novel processes for the production of food and feed components, but also bio-chemicals and materials.
